John 12:17-26
John 12 presents a turning point as Jesus nears the cross. While many in Judea are fascinated by His miracles, especially the raising of Lazarus, their understanding of Him is often distorted by prejudice, nationalism, and personal ambition. The religious leaders reject Him, and even the crowds misunderstand His mission. In contrast, Greeks seeking Jesus reveal that God’s salvation is for all people, not only the Jews. Jesus then teaches that true life comes through death to self, faithful service, and following Him. In a chaotic and deceptive world, believers are called to reject worldly hope, remain discerning, and devote themselves to Christ’s kingdom.
